Hello Rainbow Tribe and welcome to Eclipse Season.

Our theme for the month is

The dance of Grandmother Moon and Grandfather Sun

Eclipse season is always intense, and intense is not good or bad it just is.

Eclipses go through phases of working with two signs opposite each other.

You may remember we were going through Aquarius/Leo eclipses before this.

Now we are dealing with Eclipses in Cancer (home, family, Mother Archetype) or Capricorn (work, career, Father Archetype).

Can you see the dichotomy that will play out?

Time to spotlight home and work life.

To work on deconditioning and then reconditioning from our family of origin (the home dynamics we grew up with).

Eclipse season is truly the Tango of Grandmother Moon ad Grandfather Sun. It is passionate, romantic and intense.

Eclipses only happen at the two most intense phases of the moon, New and Full Moon.

To be more specific we will have a Solar Eclipse at New Moon (not every new moon) when the moon passes between the earth and the sun.

And Lunar eclipses occur at Full Moon (again not every time) when the Earth passes between the Moon and the Sun. Fascinating stuff.

Astrology Buzz

The Sun is now in Cancer (June 21st – July 22nd) where he will stay through the solar eclipse on the 2nd (new moon) and the lunar eclipse on the 16th (full moon).

As intimated earlier it is the perfect time to work on what feels right at home. Home is our safe and intimate space.

Cancer is the first of 3 waters signs and it is the only one that deals primarily with our secret and personal feelings.

Scorpio is more about what feelings we choose to express to others and Pisces is more focused on what we share and what we feel spiritually.

As such trust the feelings, if it does not feel good, how can you change it?

As we move into Leo on the 23rd July to 22nd Aug, we are then able to follow our hearts and act on all these intense revelations.

Leo is super passionate energy and loves to take care of number 1, which may be needed after all that emotional re-evaluation.

Did I mention there will be a lot of RE energy with Mercury going retrograde from the 7th – 31st July?

Mercury will have entered Leo and will then travel back into Cancer. There is no hiding from the Cancer energy right now.

New Moon in Cancer is on July the 2nd. With the eclipse we have spoken about and the energy of both sun and moon being close enough to tango this is very powerful and emotions will be on high alert. I love this Piglet and Pooh quote, they have it right for this watery, feeling moon. Remember to set your intentions at New Moon.

Full Moon is in the sign of Capricorn this month on the 16th. And here we have our 2nd eclipse for the month and our 4th of 5 for the year. The push and pull of the Cancer/Capricorn energy will be high.

Crystal picks for July

Moonstone There is much focus this month on Grandmother Moon and this stone as the name suggests is a real illuminator with regards to our moon traits of emotions, sensitivity, cycles and our reflective nature.

Sunstone on the other hand ties into our Grandfather Sun aspects and energies. Equally illuminating but in a more dynamic, action oriented and fiery way. This can be our hot emotions too, like passion, anger, rage and joy. These two together during Eclipse season will really help you to see what needs seeing.

Pearl and Coral are not strictly speaking part of the mineral kingdom but like Amber have been classified as such.

Pearl is created as a by-product of irritation. A grain of sand that irritates the clam enough for it to start to form this little calcification. It is the classic expression like a diamond of growth through adversity. Hold on to that over eclipse season.

Coral was a living organism itself, home to much sea life. Think of the saying ‘if those walls could talk’. Now ask yourself with the aid of coral what needs sea_ing

Aromas of the month

Sunny Citrus oils are a must for working with Grandfather Sun energy. As a family they are cheerful and zesty. They are also top notes which tells us they keep things mostly on the surface, not dealing with what lies beneath.

Rose and Jasmin on the other hand are both base notes and love to go deep to the heart of the issue. They are more sedative, dreamy and sensual. Working on the emotions and hormones. They are also more financially viable if you buy a blend as the absolute oil is very, very pricey.

I love that Jasmin is best harvested at night under the full moon. Night is when her aroma is strongest and at full moon, she is at her fullest water content and therefore highest yield.

Rose is best harvested first thing in the morning after soaking up the energy of the night and sun kissed by the rising sun. This is when rose yields highest quality and quantity of her magic essence.

A blend idea in a bath at new and full moon:

4 drops Grapefruit, 2 Jasmin and 2 drops Rose

This is a very decadent blend so adapt to what you have oil wise.

Remember to write your blends in your blend book so you remember what you liked and what you didn’t.

Spotlight Advice

Eclipse Season

If this topic interests you, then it will interest you to know that the last time we were going through eclipses in this theme was around 2009 and 2010.

As eclipses repeat themes you will likely be going through a similar if not the same theme as you did then.

Especially around home and work. Such as power structures in one or both, a separation or division, re defining boundaries and patterns.

1 Look back: What was happening for you in 2009 -2010? How can you see the theme repeating now?

2 Make a note: When we come again to this theme in 2028 -2030 we will want to look back to now and to the previous cycle to see what is shifting and what needs focus.

3 Solar Eclipse Intention: The solar eclipse which is at new moon and is like a super charged new moon is usually about a new beginning. So set your intention and begin to repattern your life.

4 Lunar Eclipse Release: when the full moon comes around it will be a lunar eclipse, and this is usually a point of releasing something that is no longer serving you.

5 Cancer/Capricorn: Do some extra research into the archetypes of these signs if you want a broader understanding of where your lessons may be coming from. Remember too that through this time we have many Retrograde planets including Mercury…even more Re energy.

Re_assess, Re_view, Re_consider, Re_member, Re_flect, Re_invent, Re_align and the list goes on.
